Spring Practice Starts Friday for Louisiana Tech
March 14, 2012
RUSTON, La. - The quest for a repeat championship will begin Friday, March 16 as Louisiana Tech will hold its first 2012 spring practice session. Friday's practice is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Joe Aillet Stadium.
This will be the first of 15 sessions the Bulldogs are allowed to hold during the spring as Louisiana Tech looks to repeat as Western Athletic Conference Champions. Led by head coach Sonny Dykes, LA Tech returns 16 starters in 2012 from that WAC championship team.
The spring practice season will conclude on Saturday, April 14 with the T-Day Spring Game at 1 p.m. at Joe Aillet Stadium.
Most practices will be held at Joe Aillet Stadium and will be held at 4 p.m. on weekdays and 9:30 a.m. on weekends. All dates, times and locations are subject to change.
Tech only lost two offensive starters but the Bulldogs lose four defensive starters from a unit that dominated the WAC last year including Adrien Cole, the 2011 WAC Defensive Player of the Year. Both starting linebackers, Cole and Jay Dudley, will be replaced in 2012 along with defensive end Matt Broha and corner back Terry Carter.
All spring practices are open to the public and media.
