RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech Head Coach Sonny Dykes spoke with the media following Wednesday's practice at Joe Aillet Stadium.
"I thought today’s practice was good. It was hot today and I thought we were a little bit fatigued and lost our focus late. Later in the team period, it got a little sloppy. What happens in the spring is you are not getting ready for a game and guys have a tendency to get a little sloppy in play. We have to be mentally tougher and focus better and continue to improve our technique. Overall, I thought it was a productive day and we got better."
On who stood out Wednesday:
"Our Zs, both Ahmad Paige and Tim Molten, made a lot of contest plays on the football. Eric Harper is a guy that is getting better. Lyle Fitte did a good job for us today carrying the football. Solomon Randle had a pretty good day, he was getting involved defensively and C.J. Broades hustled around and did some good things. Terry Carter had a pretty good day as well. The thing I like, especially with those corner backs, is a lot of competitive football and they are bouncing around and helping each other get better. They are working hard and getting better day by day."
"Our defense had a couple interceptions today in the final team period. Chad Boyd made a nice play and did some good things early in the team period. He’s a guy that has been really consistent, he’s been at every practice and hasn’t had any kind of injuries or missed any reps. He’s just a solid player and he’s one of those guys you need on any good football team, someone who is consistent and does his job and makes plays. He’s not the flashiest guy in the world but he is always around the football. I really like the way he is playing right now."
