Activities Set for T-Day Spring Game This Saturday
RUSTON – Although the results won’t count in the official record books, Louisiana Tech fans will get an opportunity to see their Bulldog football team in a real game setting during this Saturday’s T-Day Spring Game set for Joe Aillet Stadium at 1 p.m.
Gates will open at 10:45 a.m.
Head coach Derek Dooley said the format for the weekend’s contest would be as close to a real game setting as possible, including dividing into two separate teams, and working on all aspects of special teams play as well as the normal offense vs. defense.
Dooley said this year’s senior class will be divided into two groups later this week and each group will then “draft” the two teams – players, coaches and support staff.
All Tech fans are urged to attend the contest which is free to the public.
A CHAMPS Appreciation Bar-B-Q Luncheon will be held prior to the kickoff of the T-Day Spring Game starting at 11 a.m. under the tent in the north endzone for CHAMPS members only, who are asked to please RSVP to Janie Walker or Lisa Smith at 255-7950.
A Football Lettermen’s Luncheon will be held in the north endzone following the game for former Bulldog football players, coaches and support staff. All football lettermen are asked to RSVP to Denise Williamson at 318-257-4111 by Wednesday.
All Bulldog fans are encouraged to tailgate prior to and following the game in the parking lot of Joe Aillet Stadium. All tailgating spaces are open on a first-come, first-serve basis and any questions can be directed to Bill Graham at 318-257-4111.
The concession stands under the west side of the stadium will also open at 11 a.m.
A Kids Zone will be provided outside the west side of the stadium. The young Bulldogs at heart can enjoy inflatables and face painting, while visiting with Champ, Tech XIX and the Tech Cheerleaders. This area will be open starting at 11 a.m.
The Tech Pep Band and Miss Tech Bethany Moore will also be in attendance while ESPN 97.7 will be on hand with pre-game and in-game updates.
Members of the Louisiana Tech Athletic Department will be stationed inside the stadium to take season ticket orders and CHAMPS memberships while also handing out schedule cards to all fans.
