June 14, 2012
DALLAS - Conference USA announced Thursday that the Louisiana Tech at Houston football game on Sept. 8 at Robertson Stadium in Houston will kickoff at 7 p.m. CT and will be televised on the CBS Sports Network. The announcement means that six of LA Tech’s first seven games are guaranteed to be broadcast with the seventh – a Sept. 29 game at Virginia – likely to be televised when ESPN and the ACC announce the television selections for that week on Sept. 17. Last season, Louisiana Tech led Houston and Heisman Trophy finalist Case Keenum 34-7 with 20 minutes remaining before Keenum and the Cougars mounted a comeback and rallied for a 35-34 win at Joe Aillet Stadium. Despite that and a couple other close losses early on in the season, the Bulldogs overcame a 1-4 start and won seven consecutive games to win the 2011 Western Athletic Conference championship. Louisiana Tech opens the 2012 season on Aug. 30 as the Bulldogs host Texas A&M at Shreveport’s Independence Stadium. Individual tickets for that and all six home games go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. Fans wishing to purchase tickets can call 318-257-3631, email TechTickets@LATech.edu or visit www.LATechSports.com.
