Heart of Dallas Partners with Carry The Load for 2013 Heart of Dallas Classic
July 24, 2013
DALLAS - Heart of Dallas is proud to announce Carry The Load (CTL) as its primary beneficiary for the first annual Heart of Dallas Classic event to help raise money for military veterans and their families.
The Army and Louisiana Tech University football teams will square off at the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium at Fair Park on September 28, 2013. A purchased ticket to the game also provides admission to the State Fair of Texas.
"Carry The Load is a wonderful organization that celebrates our country's heroes," said Britton Banowsky, Heart of Dallas founder and commissioner of Conference USA. "We are thrilled Carry The Load will benefit from the Heart of Dallas Classic, helping to build awareness and raise funds for the men and women who have given so much."
CTL exists to restore meaning to Memorial Day by honoring the sacrifices made by members of the military, first responders, law enforcement officers, firefighters and their families, especially those who have died or were wounded while carrying the load for their fellow Americans.
"Each day, our service men and women carry the burden of keeping our country safe," said Stephen Holley, Co-Founder of CTL. "Carry The Load has created the opportunity for friends and loved ones to reflect upon the sacrifices of these heroes."
To support Heart of Dallas and Carry The Load, purchase your tickets for the Heart of Dallas Classic at TheHeartofDallas.org. Tickets for the game are available for as low as $20.

About Carry The Load (CTL) Founded in 2011 by Clint Bruce and Stephen Holley (U.S. Naval Academy graduates and U.S. Navy SEAL veterans), Carry The Load is a non-profit [501(c)(3)] organization created to restore the meaning and purpose of Memorial Day and recognize those who devoted their lives to protect us in defense of our nation, intolerable crime and unforeseen tragedy and disaster.
With the mission to engage Americans by challenging us to look beyond the contemporary Memorial Day three-day weekend (now customarily observed and celebrated by back-yard barbeques, furniture and mattress sales), CTL hopes to rejuvenate the true meaning and purpose of the holiday--to honor those who served and died for our country and community by encouraging participation in the National Relay and its other events and acknowledging Memorial Day through the entire month as "Memorial May."
