RUSTON - Louisiana Tech will provide Bulldog football fans a preseason tailgating fix as the athletics department will hold its annual meet and greet with head coach Skip Holtz and Co. on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Argent Pavilion.
All Bulldog faithful are encouraged to load up their families, pull out their secret recipes, clean off their grills, and throw some good old southern barbecue on the coals starting around 4 p.m. on Saturday. Tailgaters are encouraged to set up around Argent Pavilion which will be the site of the autograph session and meet and greet with the Bulldog players and coaches starting at 6:30 p.m. Fans are reminded that they are limited to one autograph item per person.
Free food will also be available starting at 4 p.m. courtesy of some of Louisiana Tech's most loyal sponsors, including Brennan Dodge and additional corporate sponsors. Free drinks will be provided by Pepsi.
The Ruston Brick Kids Zone will also be set up on the front steps of the Thomas Assembly Center and will include bounce houses, face-painting, games and more. Members of the Regal Blues and cheerleaders will also be on hand along with Champ while a photographer's station will be set up where youngsters can put on a Bulldog football uniform and parents can take pictures in front of a Tech backdrop.
KXKZ 107.5 FM - the flagship station for the LA Tech Sports Network - will also be on hand, providing a live remote. Tech fans can also fill out information cards at the Louisiana Tech ticket table, and a random drawing will be held every half hour for free giveaways, including season tickets, memorabilia and more.
The Ruston Fire Department and Louisiana Tech Police Department will provide young Bulldog fans an interactive experience with a fire truck, ambulance and police car.
Schedule posters, schedule cards and other material will be handed out while supplies last while fans can also purchase their season tickets or single game tickets during the event. The Louisiana Tech Barnes and Nobles Bookstore will also be set up selling merchandise.
Louisiana Tech opens the season on Aug. 30 at Oklahoma while the Bulldogs home opener is Sept. 20 against Northwestern State.
