RUSTON - Louisiana Tech tailgaters will get a little taste of Bulldog Village this fall when Skip Holtz and Co. kickoff the home portion of the season Sept. 20 against Northwestern State.
The newly-created Bulldog Village will be located on the front steps of the Thomas Assembly Center for each home football game and will include live music, the Ruston Brick Kids Zone, LA Tech student-athlete autograph and interaction area, tailgate judging for best food and much more. There will be more information available on Bulldog Village in the coming weeks.
This year's tailgating menu has been set while a few changes have been made to judging. This year the best food competition will be judged by LA Tech student athletes each home game. However, instead of the student-athletes walking around tailgating to judge the food, all tailgaters who want their food judged must bring it to Bulldog Village two and a half hours before kickoff.
Only tailgaters who have prepared the food based on that week's advertised menu will be eligible to win the award. Winners will be announced during half-time.
The plaque for best decorations will be judged by members of the Tech marketing staff and announced at halftime.
This year's tailgating menu includes: Sept. 20 vs. Northwestern State (BBQ ribs); Oct. 4 vs. UTEP (BBQ chicken); Oct. 18 vs. UTSA (BBQ brisket); Nov. 1 vs. Western Kentucky (gumbo); Nov. 29 vs. Rice (breakfast food).
