"Louisiana Tech will be participating in the nationwide Take A Kid to the Game program," said Klimkiewicz, referring to the marketing campaign created by Host Communications, Inc., to encourage alumni and fans to take their kids out to stadiums across the nation to experience intercollegiate athletics. "We want to encourage all Bulldog fans to bring their children out and have a great time at the ball game."
Prior to the 6 p.m. kickoff, a "Bulldog Village" will be set up for kids, which will include arts and crafts, face painting, inflatable games, tailgating and more. Then the first 500 youngsters through the gates of the stadium will receive a free Got Football? prize pack sponsored by the Boersma Clinic, which will include a pencil and notepad.
Also prior to kickoff, fans are encouraged to sign up at the "Field Goal Kick" booth inside Aillet Stadium for an opportunity to win $10,000, courtesy of Mulligan's Wine and Spirits. One lucky fan's name will be drawn five minutes prior to halftime for the chance to make a 40-yard field goal, which would be worth $10,000.
The Tech band will also be joined by a number of area high school bands for the pregame and halftime performances.
Tech returns 11 starters from last season's 8-3 squad, including its record-setting receiving
corps of Sean Cangelosi, Delwyn Daigre, James Jordan and John Simon.
