Allen Named WAC Special Teams POW

RUSTON - For the second week in a row, Louisiana Tech punter Ryan Allen has been named the Western Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week following his performance in the Bulldogs 51-27 win over UTSA.

Allen, a senior from Salem, Ore. (Oregon State), punted twice for a 62.0-yard average in Louisiana Tech's 51-27 win over UTSA. He hit a 65-yarder in the first quarter that pinned the Roadrunners back at the five-yard line and then added a 59-yarder in the third quarter. Allen leads the nation in punting with a 48.8-yard average.

The reigning Ray Guy Award winner was also named the College Football Performance Awards National Punter of the Week.

Tech wide receiver Quinton Patton and defensive back Dave Clark were both nominated for the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. San Jose State quarterback David Fales and Utah State defensive back Will Davis earned those awards.
