Ray Holley, Stephen Warner Named Academic All-District First Team

Nov. 12, 2012

RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech running back Ray Holley and center Stephen Warner have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team.

By being named first team Academic All-District, both players are eligible to be named Academic All-America.

To be considered for the Capital One Academic All-District teams, a student-athlete must have a 3.30 cumulative grade point average, must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s games, must be a sophomore or higher academically and completed one full calendar year at their institution.

Holley, a redshirt senior from Orange, Calif., has ran for 631 yards and seven touchdowns this season while catching 28 passes for 266 yards and one score. He is averaging 5.4 yards per carry this season.

Warner, a redshirt senior from Ruston, joined the Tech program as a walk-on and is one of the most unique centers in the country as he calls the pre-snap cadence for the Bulldog offense. He has helped direct an offense that ranks No. 1 nationally in total offense, No. 2 in scoring offense and No. 12 in rushing offense while Tech is ranked fifth in the nation in sacks allowed.

The Capital One Academic All-America teams will be announced the first week of December.
