LA Tech Hosts UTSA Saturday on Senior Night in Ruston
Nov. 22, 2017
RUSTON, La. - There will be plenty to play for on Saturday when Louisiana Tech aims for its sixth win of the season when the Bulldogs host the Roadrunners from UTSA at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston.
The regular-season finale is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday and will air on ESPNU with Clay Matvick (play-by-play) and Kirk Morrison (analysis) calling all the action from Joe Aillet Stadium.
“Our attention right now is on what we have to do to find a way to win a game,” head coach Skip Holtz said. “We are going to have the opportunity to acknowledge some seniors who are going to play for the last time at Joe Aillet Stadium. It is going to be an opportunity for them to kind of reflect back. These guys have been a huge part of us building this program. They have been integral parts of our success to this point. Many of them have played for the last four years and been a big part of special teams, offense and defense and this team being in three bowl games for the last three years. We want to be able to send them off the right way, say thank you to them and make this a memorable day for them.”
UTSA heads to Ruston led by second-year head coach Frank Wilson, who saw his team reach bowl eligibility last weekend with a 9-7 win over Marshall. Overall, the Roadrunners enter the weekend 6-4 overall with a 3-4 record in Conference USA’s West division.
Louisiana Tech will be playing for bowl eligibility this weekend after the Bulldogs took care of business last Saturday with a 42-21 road win over UTEP. That win improved LA Tech’s record to 5-6 overall and 3-4 in Conference USA. A victory over the Roadrunners this weekend would extend LA Tech’s bowl streak to four straight seasons.
Tickets can be purchased online at LATechSports.com or by calling the LA Tech Ticket Office at 318-257-3631. Fans are encouraged to buy their tickets in advance of the game.
The ticket booths on both the east and west sides of Joe Aillet Stadium will open Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Gates to the stadium open at 5 p.m. Saturday.
The City of Ruston will once again offer the "Tech Trolley" service this weekend. Using iShuttle Transportation Service, the "Tech Trolley" will run continuously from the Trolley Stop in Railroad Park on Vienna Street in downtown Ruston to the Davison Athletics Complex. Signage showing the pickup and drop-off locations will be available on game days.
The "Tech Trolley" will begin running at 1:30 p.m. and will run up to one hour after the game ends. Fans can download the iShuttle Corporate app and utilize the password ruston to track the trolley in route.
The "Tech Trolley" is a quick easy way to avoid the game day hassle of parking and will take priority over all other traffic in route to Joe Aillet Stadium.
