The T-Day Spring Game was a success! Thanks to all of the fans who came out to support the team as they wrapped up spring practice.

  Thursday, April 12

Quiet day on campus today with only our T-Day Spring Game left as a part of spring football but we have a couple of links for you to check out including a look at how the team is remembering and honoring Tyrone Duplessis and a very in-depth look at 2012 opponent UTSA.

  Wednesday, April 11

The team practiced for about two hours this afternoon as Louisiana Tech entered the final stretch of spring practice this year. All that is left on the docket is the 2012 T-Day Spring Game, set for Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m. We hope to see you there!

  Monday, April 9

After a long, relaxing weekend for most (watch the interview with Jeff Koonz on LA Tech All-Access to see why he was the exception), the players have returned from a long Easter Break and are back in action. The team only has one real practice left (Wednesday, 4 p.m.) before the end of spring hits with the annual T-Day Spring Game. We hope to see you at Joe Aillet Stadium Saturday!

  Thursday, April 5

And the third scrimmage is in the books! The offense continues to show improvement and Zach Griffith adeptly handled the second team offense as the team scrimmaged this evening before a long Easter weekend break. Check out lots of great interviews on LA Tech All-Access!

  Wednesday, April 4

Quiet day yesterday with the obvious exception of several claps of thunder along with the storms that hit the Ruston area. We're geared up for the team's 11th practice of the spring today at 4 p.m.

Louisiana Tech's 12th practice and third scrimmage of the spring will still be held tomorrow but the time has changed to a 6 p.m. start.

Lots of stuff going on in Ruston as the team's "lights out" defense took that term to a whole new level Monday. The campus lost power in the midst of a powerful rainstorm and Tech players ended up dressing for practice in a dark locker room.

Meanwhile, as you can see below, Vince Cano earned headlines nationally as his talented tapping two-step stole the show.

  Friday, March 30

Another busy day on campus! The team is gearing up for another practice and short scrimmage this evening (spring session #9 of 15). Meanwhile, a college football writer for has been on campus all day interviewing coaches and student-athletes. The national media is starting to realize the potential for the 2012 Tech team.

You read the book, now see the movie!

After reporting on Louisiana Tech's spring football practice through the written (or in this case, typed) word, Chad Boyd took some time to talk about the Bulldogs defense on LA Tech All-Access. Watch his in-depth analysis of Tech's defense here.

A Different Take

Today's practice report is a little different than normal. Stepping outside the box, handed over the proverbial pen and paper to DB Chad Boyd, who is unable to participate in spring drills due to an injury. Read his full report on Wednesday's practice. What do you think of his assessment of the Bulldogs?

No updates or links yesterday mainly because Tuesday was spent in Shreveport planning for Louisiana Tech's season opener against Texas A&M. The LA Tech game management staff is already planning and troubleshooting as much as possible to make the A&M game a great experience for everyone!

Monday's abnormal hot temperatures was just one of several subplots surrounding Tech's seventh practice of the spring. The heat, coming off a scrimmage and more were just some of the subplots, along with players still fighting for a chance to start. Find out about all of that and more in today's practice report and All-Access videos!

  Saturday, March 24

Today's scrimmage was a success... for the defense, mainly. The offensive line and running game looked good on the offense but the receivers got a wake-up call in showing they drop too many passes.

The defensive front got a lot of good pressure and Rufus Porter showed why he wants to take Jay Dudley's job. Links to the recap, quotes, a photo gallery, stats and lots of great videos are to the left.

Scrimmage up next! After today's practice, the Bulldogs are ready to hit somebody. They'll get their chance tomorrow morning at Tech's first spring scrimmage (9:30 a.m., March 24, Joe Aillet Stadium).

A story to hear! Vince Cano had a rather unusual bowl trip last December - he experienced San Diego from a hospital room of all places. Watch him talk about his story and two unexpected surgeries and watch what Coach Dykes had to say about Tech's fourth spring practice all on LA Tech All-Access.

Practice is still on! It looks like most of the rain has moved out of the Lincoln Parish area. The team will practice at 4 p.m. at Joe Aillet Stadium as regularly scheduled.

Why practice in the rain? Three answers: Southern Miss 2010, Southern Miss 2011 and New Mexico State 2011. All three of those games were played in the rain with the two rain games of 2011 being particularly soggy (the Southern Miss game in 2011 was actually played in Tropical Storm Lee).
