SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Victor Lange led Louisiana Tech with a 1-over-par 73 on the final day of competition as Louisiana Tech moved up to a tie for ninth with Kansas State at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational.
LA Tech’s final round team score of 300 marked the fourth-best team score of the day among the 15 teams competing. Only three schools – Oklahoma, Baylor and East Carolina – shot a sub-300 score over the last 18 holes.
Lange finished tied for ninth overall with a 6-over-par score of 219 (75-71-74=219) after his final round score of 73. The sophomore was only two strokes from finishing in the top five of the tournament’s individual leaderboard.
Spears lowered his score each round of play, shooting a 3-over-par 75 in the final round to finish 37th overall with a 12-over-par 228 for the tournament. He was followed closely by Wilmore who improved his score by four strokes over the final two rounds to shoot a 13-over-par 229 for the tournament. Jack Lempke rounded out the scoring four on Tuesday for Tech with a 16-over-par 232, finishing tied for 53rd.
Louisiana Tech returns to action on Feb. 21-23 at the Bayou City Collegiate Championship in Houston, co-hosted by Houston and Rice.
