Final Stats

MOBILE, Ala. - Louisiana Tech's golf team closed out play at the 2018 Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate Tuesday with its best round of the tournament, while the team finished 12th in overall in the event hosted by South Alabama at Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course in Mobile, Alabama.

Overall, the Bulldogs showed improvement in each round of the two-day event as they wrapped up play on Tuesday with a total team score of 890 (304-296-290). Individually, Louisiana Tech was led by freshman Peyton Coursey, who shot a three-round total of 218 (2-over-par) to finish tied for 20th in the field.

"I was proud of the guys for how they competed in the final round," head coach Matt Terry said. "It was a much better round of golf today to close out the tournament. Now, it is time to get back home and clean up our games moving forward, but overall, I loved seeing the improvement on the course today."

After posting a team score of 304 in the first round, the Bulldogs improved in the second round of play, which was halted at the midway point on Monday evening due to darkness. In the second round, LA Tech posted a team score of 296.

In the third and final round of play on Tuesday, Louisiana Tech shot two-over-par (290) as a team, while three Bulldogs were even in the round to help Tech post its best team score of the week.

In addition to Coursey leading the way for the Bulldogs individually, Ryan Alford (72-73-74=219) shot 3-over for the tournament to tie for 25th over three rounds. Max Kettler (81-72-72=225), Karsten Green (79-77-72=228) and Hayden Frederick (84-78-76=238) rounded out LA Tech's five-man team at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate. LA Tech's Sacha Aubert also competed in Mobile this weekend as an individual and finished with a three-round total of 240 (81-80-79).

LA Tech returns to action March 12-14 as the Bulldogs travel to Irving, Texas, to compete in the Bob Sitton Invitational.
