Golf in 15th Place after Two Rounds at Golfweek Conference Challenge

BURLINGTON, Iowa - Louisiana Tech’s men’s golf team improved by one stroke in the second round of action as the team shot a 305 at the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Sprit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington Monday.

The Bulldogs enter the final round in 15th place, two strokes behind Texas State and six strokes behind Ball State.

Ben Robinson and Travis Wilmore shot a team best 3-over-par 75 Monday while Robinson leads the team with a 5-over-par 149 after two rounds. Wilmore improved the most of all the team members, cutting three strokes off his score from the first round.

Victor Lange again struggled on the back nine, finishing 4-over-par (76) on the day after shooting an even-par 36 on the front nine. This marks the second straight day Lange has shot an even-par on the front nine.

John Lewis Sams (7-over-par, 79) and Chuck Spears (7-over-par, 79) both improved their scores from the first day.

The final round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge tees off Tuesday morning in Burlington.
