GULF SHORES, Ala. - Louisiana Tech’s men’s golf team shot a 16-over-par and dropped to sixth place on the final day of the Arkansas State (ASU) Fall Beach Classic at The Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club Tuesday in Gulf Shores.
The team struggled in the final round of action after Monday’s afternoon round moved them up to second place from sixth place.
Individually, Victor Lange and Jack Lempke both tied for 12th overall after shooting identical 4-over-par scores for the tournament. Lange was consistent in his score (72-74-74=220) while Lempke (76-67-77=220) could not continue his second round dominance on Tuesday.
Ben Robinson shot a 3-over-par 75 in Tuesday’s final round to finish with a 7-over-par 223 for the tournament (75-73-75=223) as he finished 22nd overall.
Travis Wilmore placed 27th overall with a 9-over-par score (75-72-78=225). The senior struggled in the final round as his 6-over-par 78 matched his worst round of the fall season.
Chuck Spears rounded out the five Bulldogs in competition with a 13-over-par 229 after shooting 81 Tuesday.
With the close of the ASU Fall Beach, Louisiana Tech has completed its fall schedule and will resume action after the new year.
