RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech head golf coach Jeff Parks announced Wednesday that former Bulldog golfer Dustin Baker has joined the program as a volunteer assistant coach.

Baker joins the staff in a volunteer capacity while also serving as an assistant golf professional at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, the Bulldogs’ home course.

“We are excited to add Dustin to our staff,” Parks said. “He will travel with us to tournaments to help with planning and advice to the guys as we compete. As a former Bulldog, he takes a lot of pride in his alma mater and will instill that in our current student-athletes.”

A native of Longview, Texas, Baker graduated in 2009 from Louisiana Tech and earned two letters while competing at LA Tech. He joined the program after two years at Tyler Junior College and went on to average 75.84 in 19 rounds as a Bulldog.

Louisiana Tech opens the 2014 spring schedule on Feb. 10-11 at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.
