LA Tech to Face Tough Field at Old Waverly Collegiate Championship ![]()

RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech’s golf team returns to the links this week when the Bulldogs travel to Mississippi to compete against a competitive field in the 2018 Old Waverly Collegiate Championship. The two-day event is set to tee off at 8:30 a.m. Monday with a shotgun start at the par 72, 7,000-yard Old Waverly Golf Club. The Bulldogs will play a total of 54 holes this week with 36 holes scheduled on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will compete in a 15-team field this week that features three SEC teams and Conference USA foe Southern Miss. This week’s tournament is hosted by Mississippi State, while other teams competing include Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, Lipscomb, Little Rock, UL-Lafayette, ULM, LSU, McNeese, Memphis, Ole Miss, South Alabama and South Florida. On Monday, LA Tech will be paired with UL-Lafayette and Southern Miss in the first round of the tournament. Louisiana Tech will be represented at the 2018 Old Waverly Collegiate Championship by Ryan Alford, Peyton Coursey, Max Kettler, Karsten Green and Hayden Frederick.
