KENNESAW, Georgia - The Louisiana Tech Bulldog golf team will end its fall season by competing in the 12-team Pinetree Intercollegiate hosted by Kennesaw State at the Pinetree Country Club.
The event will begin Monday with 36 holes starting with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start and will conclude Tuesday with the third and final round using tee times.
The Bulldogs enter the event as the third highest ranked program in the tournament behind No. 40 ranked Ball State and No. 57 ranked South Alabama. The 66th ranked Bulldogs will also be competing against No. 80 Kennesaw State, No. 108 Middle Tennessee State, No. 124 Samford, No. 142 Florida Gulf Coast, No. 149 Gardner Webb, No. 158 Marquette, No. 165 Jacksonville, No. 184 Troy and No. 215 Northern Illinois.
Six LA Tech golfers will be competing this weekend as the Bulldog's five-man team will consist of Travis Wilmore, Sam Forgan, Jack Lempke, Victor Lange and Ben Robinson. Chandler Vilcheck will compete as an individual at the event.
Wilmore is the highest ranked individual competing at the event as he currently sits at No. 30 in the country. Five other Top 100-ranked golfers will be participating in the tournament, including No. 47 ranked Matt Cote (Florida Gulf Coast), No. 50 ranked Tolver Dozier (Troy), No. 57 ranked Edward Figueroa (Florida Gulf Coast), No. 58 ranked Michael Garretson (South Alabama) and No. 73 ranked Jimmy Beck (Kennesaw State).
Wilmore has recorded three consecutive Top 10 finishes to start the season, including capturing the individual title at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate held at Squire Creek Country Club. The junior finished sixth at the David Toms Intercollegiate hosted by LSU two weeks ago.
