RUSTON--Louisiana Tech's Track and Field will look to continue an extremely successful outdoor season as they travel to Baton Rouge, La. Saturday to compete in the Alumni Gold Invitational on the campus of LSU.
The LSU Alumni Gold attracts a world-class field year in and year out, and the 2009 edition is no exception as many top college and professional athletes are scheduled to compete on Saturday.
"This is a great chance for us to run some good individual events before we head to the Drake Relays next week," Tech head coach Gary Stanley said. "This is a very prestigious meet with world-class athletes competing in it so it is also a great chance to see how we measure up against some of the best."
The team is coming off a solid performance at the Ole Miss Invitational in Oxford, Miss. where sprinter Chasidee Lewis-Baker and throwers Nadia Alexander and Larry Jones all recorded regional qualifying marks in their respected events.
