RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech seniors Kinsey Dinnel and Zach Schuler have earned a spot on the 2008 All-Louisiana Sports Writers Team after very successful campaigns this past year.

"Zach and Kinsey are two of the hardest working guys I have ever had," Tech head coach Gary Stanley said. "They certainly deserve this award. Both are fifth year seniors who stuck it out and refused to quit."

Dinnel and Schuler both finished in the top two for the Bulldogs a majority of the season and helped lead Tech to a triple-dual sweep at the 2008 Mook 4 Invitational at Lincoln Parish Park in September.

Dinnel ran the second fastest time in Bulldog history at the Auburn Invitational in October. Both athletes also helped lead Tech to a second place finish at the LSU Invitational and then a higher finish than the Tigers at the Auburn Invitational.

For their efforts this season, both were also named to the 2008 All-WAC cross country team.

Dinnel and Schuler were two of three seniors along with Nate Davis that elected to sit out the 2007 season to redshirt what would have been their senior seasons to join a more mature team this season.

Tech's 2009 Indoor track and field season begins at the University of Houston Invitational Jan. 16, 2009.
