RUSTON - Louisiana Tech will look to complete a sweep of its three-game homestand when the Lady Techsters host UTSA Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Thomas Assembly Center.

LA Tech (7-7, 3-1 WAC) defeated both UT Arlington (65-58) and Texas State (71-58) in the first two games and will welcome a UTSA program that makes its first ever trip to Ruston. The Roadrunners (8-8, 2-3 WAC) are coming off a 59-57 road win at UT Arlington Thursday.

The Lady Techsters are currently in a two-way tie with Utah State for second place in the Western Athletic Conference standings, one full game behind league leader Seattle.

After struggling offensively in its non-conference season, LA Tech has made vast improvements through the first four WAC games. The Lady Techsters are averaging 71.2 points per game in WAC play while shooting 40 percent from the field and 41 percent from the three-point line.

Sophomore guard Kelia Shelton is one of the early front runners for WAC Player of the Year as the Clemson transfer is averaging 19.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in league-only games while shooting 50 percent from the field, 53 percent from the three-point line and 78 percent from the free throw line.

Shelton has recorded back-to-back double doubles, including pulling down 13 rebounds against both the Mavericks and the Bobcats.

Sophomore forward Whitney Frazier has also been impressive in league play, averaging 12.0 points and 9.3 rebounds a game. The El Dorado, Ark. native registered her third career double double in Thursday's win with 15 points and a career-high 15 rebounds.

UTSA is the WAC's top defensive team, allowing only 55.1 points per game and holding opponents to only 35 percent shooting. The Roadrunners have allowed only six opponents to score 60 points or more this year.

Sophomore guard Kamra King (10.1 ppg) and senior guard Simone Young (9.7 ppg) are the only two UTSA players that are averaging more than 5.0 points a game for the season.

Tech leads the all-time series against UTSA 3-0, including an 82-72 win over the Roadrunners on Dec. 30, 2009 in San Antonio.

The contest can be heard on the LA Tech Sports Network with the pregame show beginning at 6:30 p.m. Fans can also access a live video and audio stream of the game through a paid subscription to LA Tech All-Access at www.LATechSports.com.
