RUSTON - Over the past decade Louisiana Tech and Fresno State have developed an intense rivalry on the hardwood as the Lady Techsters and Bulldogs have dominated the Western Athletic Conference and played some memorable women's basketball games.
This rivalry will continue on the Thomas Assembly Center floor Saturday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. when the Lady Techsters host the Bulldogs in the NCAA's 5th annual "Pack the House" Challenge.
After such a huge success last year when more than 7,000 fans packed the TAC to watch LA Tech defeat Fresno State 90-84 in overtime, Assistant Athletics Director Leah Beasley has selected this year's match-up again ... naming the promotion "Fairwell Fresno: The Rematch."
Beasley's NCAA Pack the House efforts have garnered national recognition as Louisiana Tech is the ONLY school in the nation to win the award for its respective conference four years in a row.
As part of the promotions surrounding the game, all kids 17-years-old and younger will get into the game for free while all other tickets are only $5.
Prior to tipoff of the game, fans can enjoy free fair rides starting at 4 p.m. in the parking lot on the east side of the Thomas Assembly Center adjacent to the Argent Pavilion. Individuals must show their free pass or game ticket to gain access to the rides which will include one of the nation's tallest roller coasters, a tilt-a-whirl, giant slide, mirror maze, giant spinning swings and more.
A number of food trailers will be located around the carnival rides (must purchase) while free food and cotton candy will be provided starting at 5:30 p.m. in the concourse of the TAC. Other promotions surrounding the game include:
Renowned America's Best Frisbee Dogs performing at halftime.
Exotic animal exhibits and petting zoo provided by Louisiana Gardens and Zoo in the concourse starting at 5:30 p.m.
LA Tech Greek Life Night
FCA Faith Night - FCA rally in TAC at 4:45 p.m.
Free roundtrip airline ticket giveaway
The Louisiana Tech Ticket office will open at 3:45pm that day as fans will need to purchase their ticket or get their free pass (if 17 and under) in order to participate in the fair rides.
