2011 Carnival Footage

Dear Louisiana Tech fans,

This week we will be hosting a pair of huge Western Athletic Conference games when Nevada (Thursday) and Fresno State (Saturday) come to Ruston.

These two games will mark the midway point of the WAC regular season as YOUR Lady Techsters look to defend their regular season title from a year ago.

We are currently two games out of first place which places that much more emphasis on winning these two contests on our home floor. And as the Under Armour commercial states ... WE MUST PROTECT OUR HOUSE!

We need everyone's support this week as we will prepare for each contest with our usual "one-game-at-a-time" mentality - Nevada on Thursday and then Fresno State on Saturday.

From a marketing standpoint, Saturday night's game against Fresno State is our annual NCAA Pack the House Challenge contest and this year's theme is "Fairwell Fresno: The Rematch."

Last year more than 7,000 fans were treated to one of the most exciting games in Lady Techster history when YOUR Lady Techsters defeated the Bulldogs 90-84 in overtime in a contest where the coaches and players from both of these proud programs left every ounce of energy they had on the floor.

This has become an incredible rivalry with the last five games decided in either overtime or by two points or less. Fresno State is currently undefeated in league play as Coach Adrian Wiggins and his staff continue to do a great job. It's always a battle when these two teams meet, and we expect nothing less this Saturday night.

YOUR young ladies donning the red, white and Columbia blue work hard to represent this University and the surrounding community. I am urging all Louisiana Tech fans to come out in force this week at the Thomas Assembly Center and become our sixth man.

Wear BLUE. Bring signs. Make noise. Be fanatical. Provide the home-court advantage that we need and show the Western Athletic Conference who has the best basketball fans around.
