DENTON, Texas - Louisiana Tech will close out the road portion of its regular season schedule Saturday when the Lady Techsters travel to face North Texas at the North Texas Coliseum (The Super Pit) with tipoff set for 2 p.m.
The Lady Techsters (8-19, 3-11 C-USA) are coming off a 75-64 loss at Old Dominion on Wednesday night in a game that saw Tech lead by one at the half before surrendering 47 points over the final 20 minutes of action.
Tech led 29-28 at the intermission before ODU used a 10-2 run in the first two minutes of the second half to take a lead it would never relinquish. Tech is 1-12 on the road this season, but defeated Tulsa on the road just over a week ago.
Junior Whitney Frazier (16.2 ppg, 9.7 rpg), junior Chrisstasia Walter (12.1 ppg, 153 assists), freshman JaQuan Jackson (11.4 ppg, 46-137 three-pointers) and sophomore Lulu Perry (10.7 ppg, 4.2 rpg) continue to lead Tech offensively.
Jackson needs only three more three-pointers made to break Tamicha Jackson's LA Tech freshman record of 48 set in 1995-96.
Over the last six games, junior Savanna Langston has become more of a contributor in the box score, averaging 6.2 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 49 percent from the field. Langston scored a career-high 13 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked three shots in the loss to Old Dominion on Wednesday.
Over the last eight games, North Texas (12-15, 6-8 C-USA) has alternated between wins and losses as the Mean Green are coming off a 66-52 road win at Rice on Wednesday night. The Mean Green are 8-6 at home this season, including a win over UTEP.
The contest can be heard on the LA Tech Sports Network with the pregame show starting at 1:30 p.m.
