Long Hired as @LATechWBB Director of Operations
May 23, 2016
The hiring is pending the approval of the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System.
With the addition of Long in the administrative-type role, Stoehr has now complete her coaching staff after also adding Lindsey Hicks and Alaura Sharp as assistant coaches in addition to husband Scott as the co-head coach.
Long comes to Ruston after spending the past year as an assistant coach at Ouachita High School where he was part of the staff that helped guide the Lions to a semifinal appearance in the Top 28 Tournament.
Stoehr's relationship with Long began during their time at Northwestern State where Long served as the direction of basketball operations and video coordinator for the men's program.
"I am pleased to add Nick to my staff," Stoehr said. "I was able to watch Nick work for three years and handle a myriad of responsibilities with great attention to detail. He gained valuable experience from one of the best in former Bulldog Mike McConathy, and he understands how to handle the daily operations of the program. This will allow our staff to maximize our time with our current and future student athletes."
During his time at Northwestern State, Long assisted with film breakdown, academic study hall, daily practice schedules, equipment oversight and summer camps.
Long earned his bachelor of science in teaching from UL-Monroe in May of 2012 and completed his master's degree in sports administration from Northwestern State in 2014.
