RUSTON - Louisiana Tech ranked No. 31 in the country this past season in home women's basketball attendance according to the official NCAA report released by the national office on Tuesday.
The Lady Techsters averaged 3,468 fans (total of 45,087) for 13 home dates during the 2011-12 season - the highest average since the 2003-04 season.
Tech also ranked No. 6 nationally in the largest increase from the previous season as the program saw its average home attendance improve from 2,258 in 2010-11 - an increase of 1,211 fans per home game.
The Lady Techsters home average was aided by a season-high attendance mark of 7,034 fans that attended Tech's Feb. 4 home contest against Western Athletic Conference rival Fresno State during the NCAA Pack the House Challenge. For the fifth straight year, Tech was the WAC's NCAA Pack the House Challenge winner, making it the only program in the entire country to have won the competition for its respective league each year.
Tech ranked sixth in home attendance among non-BCS programs for home attendance, trailing only New Mexico (10th), Gonzaga (14th), Delaware (26th), Toledo (28th) and Middle Tennessee State (30th).
