RUSTON - The Louisiana Tech Lady Techster basketball team will hold an open practice this Saturday at 10 a.m. at Scotty Robertson Memorial Gym on the university campus.
The practice is open to the public and will last approximately two hours. Following the practice, members of the Lady Techster basketball team will autograph posters for any fans in attendance.
Head coach Teresa Weatherspoon and the Lady Techsters will also join Mike White and the Bulldogs this Thursday at 7 p.m. at Scotty Robertson Memorial Gym for Tech Madness.
This year's event will be held at the former basketball arena where both teams played prior to the construction of the Thomas Assembly Center in the early '80s and will allow Tech fans to meet this year's Bulldog and Lady Techster teams. It is free and open to the public and is an official LA Tech Kids Club Event.
Both teams will be introduced along with the coaching staffs. Members of the Lady Techster team will perform skits while both teams will compete in a three-point shooting contest along with LA Tech students who will be randomly selected. Select Bulldog basketball players will also compete in a slam dunk contest with members of the Blue Crew serving as judges.
The night will also include performances by the LA Tech Band of Pride, Regal Blues and Cheerleaders as well as appearances by Champ and Tech XXI. Fans will have opportunities to win raffle prizes, including gift cards and autographed posters.
Tech fans will also have an opportunity to purchase their season tickets for the upcoming year as members of the athletic departments ticket office will be on hand. Season tickets can also be purchased by calling 318-257-3631 or emailing email@example.com.
