RUSTON - Louisiana Tech freshman guard JaQuan Jackson was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week following her performances in the Lady Techsters games against Arkansas State and New Orleans.

The Killeen, Texas native averaged 21.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 55 percent (17-31) from the field, 40 percent (6-15) from the three-point line and 75 percent (3-4) from the free throw line.

Jackson earned her first ever honor after scoring a career-high 23 points in a loss to Arkansas State and then totaling 20 points in a win over New Orleans. She became the first LA Tech true freshman to record back-to-back 20-plus point performances in more than 20 years.

The 79 points scored by Jackson in her first five collegiate games is also the most by a LA Tech true freshman in more than 15 years.

Middle Tennessee's Ebony Rowe was named the Conference USA Player of the Week after averaging 22.7 points and 12.0 rebounds in leading the Blue Raiders to the title at the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Florida.
