HOUSTON, TEXAS - Louisiana Tech returns to action Wednesday night when the Lady Techsters travel to Hofheinz Pavilion to face the Houston Cougars at 7 p.m.
The contest can be heard on the LA Tech Sports Network on ESPN 97.7 FM and KTKC 92.9 FM (Springhill) with the pregame show beginning at 6:30 p.m. Fans can also access the audio online with a subscription to LA Tech All-Access at www.latechsports.com.
Tech (2-6) has dropped three straight after Monday night's 69-54 setback against Western Kentucky in a game that saw the Lady Techsters struggle offensively, shooting only 35 percent from the field and committing 18 turnovers.
Shantale Bramble-Donaldson recorded her third straight double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Whitney Jones scored 13 and Jasmine Bendolph 11. Bramble-Donaldson leads Tech averaging 12.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest while Bendolph adds 11.5 points per game.
Houston (0-8) graduated four starters from last year's NCAA Tournament team that won 26 games and captured the Conference USA championships. The Cougars are led by Porsche Landry (22.0 ppg) and Roxanne Button (19.0 ppg) although Landry hasn't played in the last five games due to an injury.
As a team, Houston is averaging only 53.9 points per game and is shooting 32 percent from the field while being outrebounded by eight boards per contest.
Tech leads the all-time series against the Cougars 4-3, although UH defeated LA Tech 70-66 last season in Ruston.
