RUSTON--The Louisiana Tech bowling team took two wins in team match play and two more in the Baker Best-of-7 format to snag a fourth-place finish at the Central Region Fall Jamboree this weekend in Jonesboro, Ark.
Tech took on perennial powerhouses and top 15 finishers from last season in Arkansas State, Central Missouri and Southern University along with Grambling State University and Fontbonne.
"I'm happy with our performance," Tech head coach Shawn Jackson said. "We faced some of the toughest teams in the country and I thought we performed much better than last week."
The Techsters tallied wins over Grambling State (861-734) and Fontbonne (882-710) in team match play as well as topping these two teams in Baker team match play to finish 4-6 on the weekend.
"We did a better job this week of beating teams we are capable of beating," said Jackson. "We just need to become more consistent as a team because this is one of the ultimate team games."
Central Missouri finished 9-1 on the weekend and would walk away the champions of the Central Region Fall Jamboree.
Louisiana Tech will hit the lanes once again on Oct. 31 as the Techsters head to Baton Rouge for the SWAC Round-Up.
