RUSTON - The Louisiana Tech women's bowling team will compete at the esteemed International Research and Training Center in Arlington, Texas for the second straight week in the Southern scheduled for Feb. 8-9.
The tournament is hosted by Texas Southern and will feature the top teams in collegiate bowling such as No. 1 ranked Central Missouri, No. 4 Sam Houston State and No. 6 Nebraska competing in the tournament.
The two-day event will feature a combination of Baker matches, individual competition and bracket play as the team looks to return home as winners.
Tech is coming off an 11th place showing at the Prairie View Invite in Arlington, Texas, and is looking to improve with each passing tournament in 2013.
Senior Elizabeth Eldredge continues to lead the team with an average pin fall of 192.9 and a season-high 242 at the Track Kat Klash earlier this season. Kay Rawls and Kayla Ghersini are also top competitors for Tech with averages of 185.2 and 183.7 respectively.
The Southern Challenge will last from Friday, Feb. 8 through Saturday, Feb. 9, as the Techsters are set to compete against the nation's top teams.
