BOISE, Idaho -- Louisiana Tech has finished its first day of the 2008 Indoor Western Athletic Conference Championships at the Idaho Center and Jackson Track in Boise, Idaho.

"It's not about what the score is at this point," Tech head coach Gary Stanley said. "It's how many of our kids qualify for the finals. We feel good about our chances tomorrow. I'm very pleased with today. We have a lot of athletes running in the finals tomorrow."

After the first day, the men are fourth while the women are seventh. Plenty of Tech sprinters also qualified for the finals Saturday.

Freshman Quatisha Williams finished third in the long jump, while the men's distance medley relay finished third, as well.
