AUSTIN, Texas - Brenda-Grace Hunt advanced to the finals of the women's javelin throw at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Mike A. Meyers Track Stadium on Wednesday.

The javelin was scheduled to start at 1 p.m. and the first heat was completed during the afternoon. Hunt was in the second heat and after going back to the hotel for about an hour, came back to the stadium to compete in the second heat of the javelin throw that began at 9:45 p.m.

The only running event of the day occurred in a steady downpour as the women's 400- meter relay ran a 44.68 in the second heat. The relay missed qualifying as TCU claimed the last spot in the finals with a time of 44.51. The Lady Techsters finished 12th in the event.
