Former Lady Techster great Kiva Gresham begins her fifth year with the soccer program after returning to Ruston as an assistant coach for Kevin Sherry midway through the 2012 season.

Gresham's main responsibility is assisting with the development of the midfielders and strikers while also teaming with fellow assistant Josh Wagenaar in overseeing fitness and conditioning for the squad.

This past season, Gresham was instrumental in coaching three strikers -- Kathryn Sloan, Donya Salomon-Ali and Mylene Roy-Ouellet -- that earned Conference USA honors. Sloan and Salomon-Ali were both named second team all-conference while Roy-Ouellet was selected to the all-freshman team.

Sloan continued to climb up the school rankings in her junior year at LA Tech. After being named Louisiana Player of the Year in 2014, she followed that up by leading the Lady Techsters in every offensive statistic.

Her total points (22) and goals (nine) ended up ranking in the top five in Conference USA. She is currently tied for the second most career goals and third most career points in school history.

The year prior, she helped coach the forward who recorded a team-high seven goals, including the fastest scored goal in program history against Southern Miss which came only 11 seconds into the match. Coincidentally, the record was previously held by Gresham which she set back in 2008.

During her playing career, Gresham was a star forward for four years at LA Tech. She still holds the single season record for most points (32) and is tied for most assists (eight). She also ranks in the top three in career goals (27), assists (20) and points (74).

Originally from Albuquerque, N.M., Gresham has taken her love for the international sport and gone to the Caribbean where she participated in a coaching class in Trinidad and Tobago.

Gresham was also selected as one of the lead instructors for the EXACT Soccer Elite Prospect Camp. This unique college soccer camp provided players with the opportunity to showcase individual field skills and their mental readiness.

Gresham joined other top instructors from NCAA programs such as North Carolina, Stephen F. Austin, Abilene Christian, Illinois, Dallas Baptist, Schreiner, Sam Houston State, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Texas-Brownsville and St. Mary's (Texas).
