Tech Soccer Wins Central Arkansas 7v7 Tournament

RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech's women's soccer team took first place at the Central Arkansas 7v7 tournament Saturday in Conway, Ark.
Tech entered two squads in the seven-team round robin tournament as LA Tech Red won it all with 16 points while LA Tech Blue finished third with 12 points. UALR finished in second place with 14 points.
"It was a great day out and both teams did exceptionally well, and of course it is always a good feeling to come away as champions of the tournament," head coach Kevin Sherry said.

Two points were awarded to each team for a win while one point was awarded for a shut out and scoring four or more goals. The games were two 12-minute halves on a field approximately half the size of a regulation soccer field.
"The success today was a result of all the hard work the players have been putting in during the off season," Sherry said.
The final game of Tech's spring season is at Texas A&M Commerce on Saturday at 3 p.m.
"I hope we can take the lessons leaned from this tournament in to our final game of the year and put in a good performance to carry us into the summer and next fall with a positive frame of mind," Sherry said.
