MOSCOW, Idaho -- Louisiana Tech recorded another important point on the road in Western Athletic Conference soccer action Sunday afternoon when the Lady Techsters fought to a 0-0 tie with Idaho.

The two teams ended regulation scoreless and neither the Techsters nor the Vandals could muster a goal in either of the two 15-minute overtime periods. It marked the third time in four games between the two programs that the game ended in a tie.

Tech (10-2-3) also registered a tie Friday as it scored two late goals to tie Boise State 2-2 in the WAC opener, thus giving the Lady Techsters two important points in the conference standings early in league play.

Head coach Kevin Sherry said Sunday's effort against Idaho (1-12-2) was up to par and that his team came close a number of times to picking up its first ever win in WAC play.

"We were so close to scoring a number of times," Sherry said. "We hit the post two or three times with shots. We just didn't get the run of the ball like we would like to have but we will take a point on the road (in league play)."

Tech keeper Cat Buchanan stopped all four shots she faced during the game as the Lady Techsters recorded their 10th shutout of the season.

The Lady Techsters outshot Idaho 20-16 with Tech registering eight shots on goal and the Vandals only four. Kristen Sevier led Tech with three shots on goal while Scotti Culton recorded two.

Tech returns to action Friday with its home WAC opener against Fresno State at 7 p.m. at Ruston Junior High School.
