RUSTON - Coming off a 2012 fall season that resulted in 12-5-4 overall record and a fourth place finish in the WAC, the Louisiana Tech soccer team looks to carryover their success and development into the spring season that starts in two weeks.
"Spring season is all about giving players a chance to those who have worked hard in the offseason," said head coach Kevin Sherry. "Spring is an opportunity to work on some aspects of the game which we wish to introduce in the fall next season. It is a great chance for us to see what works and what doesn't."
The spring slate begins on March 9th in Conway, Ark. with a round robin tournament versus Arkansas State and host school Central Arkansas.
The 60-minute matches will begin at 12:30 p.m. and continue through the day.
On the following Saturday, March 16th, will be the third annual Soccer Fun Fest held at the Lady Techster Soccer Complex. Kids' soccer games will start at 11 a.m., followed by an alumni game and a match versus Jackson State.
More details surrounding the Soccer Fun Fest will be provided in the coming days.
The Lady Techsters then travel to Dallas, Texas to take on the SMU Lady Mustangs at 4 p.m. on March 23rd.
On April 6th, LA Tech will participate in another round robin tournament, hosted by UT Tyler in Tyler, Texas. Two 60-minute matches against Tyler Junior College and the host team start at 11 a.m.
