Lady Techster Soccer Hosts First Spring Game

RUSTON, La. ? The Louisiana Tech soccer team continues its spring schedule with its first home game Saturday night against Grambling State. The Lady Techsters take on a Lady Tigers at 7 p.m. Saturday at Joe Aillet Stadium.

Grambling State won its conference tournament and to reach the NCAA Tournament. The Lady Tigers were eliminated by Texas A&M in the first round. Tech finished the 2006 season with a 4-10-3 record and defeated Grambling State in an exhibition game before the season started.

Tech interim head coach Rich Stoneman said Grambling State is a much improved team than it was in the past and even early last season when the Lady Techsters defeated the Lady Tigers in an exhibition game.

?Grambling is not the team that it used to be,? Stoneman said. ?They?re a well-coached team and have a great coach. I coached their coach in college, and she?s done great things with their team. Our girls have had a good spring, and hopefully their energy will transfer to the game Saturday.?
