GRAMBLING, La. - The Lady Techster soccer team continued its unbeaten spring season with a 2-2 tie at Grambling State on Saturday afternoon. Tech now stands at 8-0-3 on the spring with one weekend tournament left on the schedule.
"We dominated the game, but we must learn to put teams away," Lady Techster coach Kevin Sherry said. "We created so many (scoring opportunities) but lacked a finish. However, it is the spring season so we wanted to give everyone a chance to play."
Tech jumped out to a 2-0 lead on the strength of goals by Katlyn Bachan and Jillian Pinder. But the Tigers took advantage of the Lady Techsters playing mostly reserves in the last 10 minutes of the contest and scored the equalizers to earn the draw.
"We are still undefeated," Sherry said. "The team is progressing well, and we learned a lot today."
Tech will conclude its spring slate with a 6-on-6 tournament at Centenary next Saturday.
