2017 Fall Schedule

RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech women's soccer head coach Kevin Sherry announced the 20-game 2017 fall schedule on Wednesday, highlighted by home matches versus SEC foe Mississippi State as well as the reigning Conference USA regular season and tournament champions in North Texas and Charlotte.

The schedule for LA Tech will once again be split into 10 non-conference and 10 in conference. The Lady Techsters will have nine total home matches.

"It is a schedule that has everything," Sherry said. "The non-conference slate includes four in-state games, a tough road trip to Texas and a great home game against Mississippi State. Our conference schedule will be one of the toughest we have ever had in C-USA, playing some really great teams early on. Like always, our team loves a challenge and the ability to prove people wrong."

For the past three years, they have certain proved a lot of people wrong by qualifying for the league tournament each year despite being picked preseason to finish towards the bottom.

LA Tech looks to continue that trend in 2017. They open the fall slate will five of their first six matches on the road, starting with the season opener on Aug. 18 at McNeese State.

After a road trip to the Lone Star State to take on Texas State and Incarnate Word, the Lady Techsters return home on Aug. 24 to host Mississippi State. It will mark only the second time hosting an SEC opponent in program history.

The team heads back out on the road to face Mississippi Valley State and I-20 foe ULM on Aug. 27 and Sept. 3, respectively. The following weekend, LA Tech will take on Troy and Jacksonville State at the Lady Techster Soccer Complex.

The non-conference schedule rounds out against two more in-state opponents -- at Grambling State and home versus LSU-Alexandria in a first ever meeting between the two squads.

C-USA action gets underway on Sept. 17 when UTSA comes to Ruston. The team will turn around for a split weekend, playing at Rice before hosting the reigning regular season champion North Texas.

LA Tech will face one opponent each of the following two weeks with long road trips to face Marshall and FIU. The Lady Techsters will then host two league games in one weekend, facing reigning league tournament champion Charlotte on Oct. 13 and Old Dominion on Oct. 15.

The season rounds out with road matches versus Middle Tennessee and UAB and the regular season finale at home against Southern Miss on Oct. 27.

The C-USA Tournament returns to FIU Soccer Stadium in Miami, Florida on Nov. 1-5 as FIU will serve as host. This venue played host to the league tourney in 2015.
