RUSTON - The Louisiana Tech soccer program continued its community service efforts this past week by volunteering to help with the SciTEC office's 14th annual Space Days on campus.
The week-long event began on Monday, April 22nd and continued all the way till Friday, giving kids a fun and educational experience with interactive learning activities, exhibits in the IDEA Place, games and more.
The Lady Techster players assisted throughout the event by moving tables and chairs, monitoring bounce houses, working as guides and ushers, maintaining litter control and helping at the hot dog tent.
"Service is one of our four pillars and it is a year-long commitment," said head coach Kevin Sherry. "If a player wishes to flourish in our soccer program, she must adhere to our four pillars and I am very proud of the work that my players do in the community."
The players have also assisted this spring in other service projects. The team hosted an Easter egg hunt for their continued `Relay for Life' fundraising campaign and they also helped with a recycling drive on campus.
