RUSTON -- The late registration deadline for the LA Tech Soccer Academy set for June 10-13 has been pushed back to Wednesday, June 3.
Soccer players wishing to register for the camp after June 3 will be assessed a late registration fee of $25.
Tech head coach Kevin Sherry, assistant coach and camp director Sam Clark and graduate assistant Chelsea Stewart will conduct the non-residential camp open to boys and girls ages 3-18 at the soccer field across from the Lambright Intramural Center.
The coaches will stress the fundamentals of soccer, including dribbling, passing, shooting and juggling. Participants will be able to test the skills they learned in skill and match sessions.
For younger campers, ages 3-11, the cost is only $75 per camper or $100 per camper if payment is received after June 3. The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. all four days. Participants will experience individual skill sessions and then have the opportunity to play small-sided games.
For older campers, ages 12-18, the cost is $150 per camper or $175 per camper if payment is received after June 3. The camp is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 10 through June 12. June 13 will mark the final day of the camp and the session will go from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided June 13. Campers will participate in individual skill sessions, experience field and tactical training and then play game/match sessions.
Campers will receive a LA Tech Soccer Academy t-shirt and a soccer ball.
A registration form is available online on the soccer page at www.latechsports.com. Forms can also be obtained in person at the Lady Techster soccer office located in the Thomas Assembly Center. Campers will be required to provide proof of insurance.

The NCAA named the 2008 Lady Techster soccer team the most improved team in the nation. Only three other schools were included in the honor.
