Lady Techster Soccer Squad Proves Its Grit Through Workouts
After the first week of a testing pre-season practice schedule, the Louisiana Tech soccer team is proving its grit and determination to compete in its 2004 inaugural season.
The Lady Techsters will continue morning and evening practice sessions mixed with weight training and various exercises in the afternoons until their 12-game season begins with a contest against the University of Louisiana-Lafayette Rajun' Cajuns on Sept. 10.
Despite the late assembling of this team due time restrictions and the short pre-season practice schedule, head coach Jen Soileau is proud of her team's committment and improvement.
"These girls have risen to the challenge," Soileau said. "This is something they have never experienced before. We're battling soreness, fatigue and emotional stress from these tough workouts, but our girls are doing great and giving 100 percent effort everyday. I've seen improvement already."
Following the Lady Techsters' contest with UL-Lafayette, they will next travel to McNeese State on Sept. 12 before coming home for a match-up with Northwestern on Sept. 14 at 4 p.m.
