FAYETEVILLE, Ark. – The Louisiana Tech soccer team came up short against Missouri State 1-0 at the Lady Razorback Classic on Sunday afternoon after dropping Friday’s match against Arkansas 2-1 in overtime.
The Lady Techsters (3-3-0) battled through the match with a short bench and could not over come the Bears (4-2-0) depth. Tech coach Jennifer Burns said before the match, the lack of subs could be a challenge for her team. The Lady Techsters only used two subs in the match to Missouri State’s seven.
Both teams played evenly in the first half until Missouri State slipped threw Tech’s defense and scored with 28 seconds remaining before the break. Angela Parsons scored on an assist from Jenna Laughlin on a cross from the right to get the ball past Tech goal keeper Jill Medigovich (2-3). Medigovich had nine saves in the match.
The Lady Techsters had six shots in the match, two on-goal, while the Bears out-shot them with 20 shots and 10 on-goal.
The Lady Techsters head home for a while after playing five of their first six matches away from Ruston. Tech will begin a four-game home stand Friday night against Arkansas State at 7 p.m.
