After opening the season with two road losses, the Tech soccer team will play its first of only two home matches Tuesday at 4 p.m. against the Northwestern State University Demons at the Lady Techster Soccer Field.
The Lady Techsters (0-2) dropped their first two matches of the 2004 inaugural season to UL-Lafayette and McNeese State University, but Tech looks to rebound with the home match against the Demons (1-5).
Junior goalkeeper Jade Berbert will lead the Lady Techsters in their search for the first win in program history, as she has recorded 29 saves through two contests. Tech has yet to score a goal in support of Berbert, but Julie Hadzic and Shaundra Hildreth both had one shot on goal against McNeese State.
Northwestern has scored six goals this season, and six Demons have scored one goal each. Heather Penico leads the team in points, as she has one assist with her goal.
Johnna Klohoker will start between the posts for Northwestern, and she has allowed 14 goals over six games for a 2.49 goals per game average. Klohoker has also blocked 58 shots.
After the Lady Techsters’ match against Northwestern, Tech will travel down to Hammond, La., to face Southeastern Louisiana University on Sept. 19 at 2 p.m.
