RUSTON, La. - Coming off their sixth-straight win, the Louisiana Tech soccer team will host Jacksonville State Sunday at 2 p.m. at Lady Techster Soccer Field. The Lady Techsters enter the match with a record of 8-2 and holding the second-longest winning streak in school history following a 3-1 win at Murray State on Friday. The match capped off a successful 2-0 road trip which also included an exciting 3-2 double overtime win at Tennessee Tech. Junior Rachel King continues her torrid scoring pace with eight goals in her last six games. The O'Fallon, Mo. native, has scored nine goals this season to lead the Western Athletic Conference and rank among the top scorers in the nation. Almost as quick as King is scoring goals, junior Kiva Gresham is recording assists. The Albuquerque, N.M. native leads the team with six assists and has recorded four in her last four games played. Jacksonville State will be the third-straight Ohio Valley Conference team the Lady Techsters will face. The Gamecocks enter the contest with a record of 2-6-1 after a 2-0 loss to Troy on Friday. One of the losses was a 2-1 defeat to WAC member New Mexico State. JSU is led by Chelsea Pelletier's five goals this season. Ali Koenig has been the main goalkeeper for the Gamecocks and holds a 1.63 goals against average. This will be the first ever meeting between Jacksonville State and Louisiana Tech.
