RUSTON - Fresh off their 1-1 tie yesterday of WAC preseason favorite and No. 19 ranked Denver, Louisiana Tech quickly recharges to take on New Mexico State tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the Lady Techster Soccer Complex.

This will be the fourth time the conference foes meet on the soccer field with LA Tech (9-1-3) coming out with the win on all three prior occasions.

The Aggies (1-8-3) have struggled to put the ball in the net with only four goals scored on the season, but are strong on defense having gone into overtime in their first two conference matches versus San Jose State and Utah State. They are led by Layla Todd who has recorded two goals and one assist.

Lady Techsters Win WAC Opener 1-0
Senior Olivia Lukasewich (Woodbridge, Ontario) scored the only goal of the game to give the Louisiana Tech soccer team a 1-0 victory over New Mexico State Saturday afternoon at Lady Techster Soccer Complex in the Western Athletic Conference opener for both teams. The win was the first to open conference play in program history.

The Techsters will have to rely on freshman goalkeeper Corina Brown in net to keep the Aggie offense in check now that Caitlin Updyke is out for the season with an arm injury suffered in the match versus Denver.

Forward Emily Brennan continues to lead the way for the LA Tech offense with six goals. After suffering a mid-game foot injury against Denver, she recovered to come back on the field and score the game-tying goal.
