The Lady Techsters suffered a heartbreaking defeat at Jackson State University Friday night, as Tech dropped its seventh consecutive match of the season to the Lady Tigers by a score of 2-0.
Tech's offense could not reach the back of the nets and still have yet to score this season. However, the Lady Techsters' defense was solid throughout the contest, and Tech's head coach Jen Soileau could not have been happier with her team's effort.
"We dominated this game, even in the second half when they scored their two goals," Soileau said. "Our kids played their hearts out. This was their best effort of the season by far. We put together a good 90 minutes of soccer; we just fell short, and this one hurt. It was a real heartbreaker for us."
After a halftime score knotted at zero, Jackson State scored in the 49th minute and 85th minute to down the Lady Techsters 2-0.
Tech will travel to South Alabama next to face the Jaguars on Sunday at 1 p.m.
