Louisiana Tech dropped its I-20 dual with Grambling State University by a score of 6-0 at the Lady Tigers Soccer Field on Wednesday.
The 2003 runner-up SWAC Champion Lady Tigers wasted no time lighting the scoreboard, as Esterlla Ortuno scored a goal in the fifth minute. Only 10 minutes later, Grambling's leading scorer Candice Nzeakor nailed her first of two goals and put the Lady Tigers up 2-0 only 15 minutes into the contest.
Tech's defense settled in for the remainder of the first period, but the Lady Tigers turned up the heat again midway through the second half, as Grambling scored three goals from the 61st minute to the 63rd minute before capping off the victory on a Natasha Nzeakor goal in the 86th minute.
The Lady Techsters managed only two shots versus Grambling's 15 shots in the contest. The physical Lady Tigers committed 15 fouls, while Tech registered 10.
Tech's goalkeeper Jade Berbert recorded five saves in the game, and Grambling's keeper Gabby Cano had one save.
The Lady Techsters will travel to Arkansas for their final two matches, playing at Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Oct. 29 at 4 p.m. and Arkansas-Little Rock on Oct. 31 at 1 p.m.
